7 is held up in the mail but I got 8. I wanted to start with 8 because it's a more straightforward game apparently. I beat 1 maybe 7 years ago.

8 is really finally a game I'm enjoying. I've started a PS1/PS2 collection, well, more or less have everything I want right now... but I couldn't get into many of the other games, they're too complicated. I'm playing Frogger 2 with my brother, I have every frogger game for ps1 and ps2 that was released in North America, those games are fun but I needed something to play myself. Dragon Quest 8 is the first game that's drawn me in past 10 minutes. I'm on level 4 or 5, the story doesn't drag on forever (I hate that) and the battles aren't full of nonsense, just relaxing levelling up buying equipment.

The story doesn't drag on but it's interesting. The graphics are great... I have an HDMI adapter for my PS2 and the games look great. But this is one of the better looking games. Nicely toon shaded.
